An AI data team you can drive to.

Benner House works from 188 East Capitol Street in downtown Jackson, Mississippi. For clients across the state and the Gulf South, that means the people preparing your data can sit in your building, keep your hours, and already know what a hurricane season does to a claims queue.

A towboat pushes barges of file boxes, server racks, seed sacks and rolled blueprints down a cypress-lined river at sunrise, a bridge on the horizon.

Why location still matters for data work

Model training can happen anywhere. Data preparation is different. It runs on access to records that often can't leave a building, on hours of conversation with the nurses, adjusters and mechanics who know what the records mean, and on reviewers who understand the work well enough to judge it.

Being based in Jackson helps with all three. When a hospital's notes or a utility's system drawings have to stay on premises, we can put our people at a workstation in your facility instead of asking you to ship anything. When your experts can only spare an hour at the end of a shift, we're in the same time zone. And when the work involves hurricane-season claims, river freight, rural health systems or row-crop operations, our team doesn't need the context explained.

Our staff are employees, not a crowd, and the work stays onshore. That matters most for the regulated records that make up much of the region's economy.

The compute is arriving in Mississippi

Announced investments in data centers across the state, and the state's own bet on AI skills.

$10 billion

Planned by AWS for two data center complexes in Madison County, Mississippi, which Amazon calls the single largest capital investment in the state's history.

Data centers don't prepare the data

Mississippi has become a place where large AI infrastructure gets built. Amazon has announced plans to invest $10 billion in two data center complexes in Madison County and at least $3 billion more in Warren County. The governor's office announced more than $20 billion of investment in xAI's data center in Southaven.

The state is investing in people as well. The Mississippi AI Talent Accelerator Program put $9.1 million in grants into AI and machine-learning programs at Mississippi colleges and universities. The Mississippi Artificial Intelligence Network, led by Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, launched in January 2024, and in June 2025 the state signed a memorandum of understanding with NVIDIA on AI education and workforce programs.

None of that capacity reads a discharge summary, untangles a claims diary or expands a mechanic's shorthand. For a regional hospital, carrier, port operator or law firm, the gap between having AI available and having AI that works on its own records is still the data work. That is local, hands-on work, and it is what we do. We have no commercial relationship with any of the companies or programs named here.

Regional industries we know

The Gulf South economy runs on records that are hard to read and sensitive to share. Each sector page goes deeper.

Health systems and rural hospitals

Discharge summaries, faxed referrals and prior-auth letters, de-identified in place and turned into training and evaluation data with your clinicians.

Catastrophe-exposed property insurance

Claims files that swell every hurricane season, with surge-season notes and adjuster photos built into the training and test sets on purpose.

River, port and freight logistics

Bills of lading, vessel logs and work orders from operators along the Mississippi and the Gulf, turned into extraction pipelines and agent sandboxes.

Energy, utilities and petrochemicals

Outage tickets, inspection photos and operator notes handled by background-checked US staff inside your environment.

Law firms and legal departments

Contracts, redlines and briefs from firms in Jackson, New Orleans, Birmingham and Memphis, with matter-level permissions kept intact.

Agriculture and agribusiness

Field records, grower contracts, inspection reports and equipment logs. A readiness assessment is usually the right first step.

How on-site work runs

For clients within driving distance of Jackson, most engagements mix on-site days with work inside your tenant.

  1. Scoping visit

We come to you for the scoping session, meet the process owners, and look at the systems where the records live. A whiteboard in your building beats a slide deck in ours.

  2. Workstation or tenant setup

Your IT team provisions named accounts in your environment, or a workstation at your site for data that can't be reached remotely. Nothing is copied to our systems.

  3. Working sessions in Central Time

Short daily check-ins with your subject-matter experts, scheduled around shifts and clinics, plus on-site days when the work needs people in the same room.

  4. Weekly readout

Every week you see the batch delivered, agreement scores, evaluation results and open questions, in person or by video.

  5. Close-out

We hand over the datasets, the provenance manifest and the evaluation report, remove our access, and deliver a written deletion record within 30 days.

Questions from Gulf South clients

Do you only work with clients in the Gulf South?

No. We work with clients across the United States, mostly inside their cloud tenants. The Gulf South is where we can also be in the room without a flight.

Where is your office?

188 East Capitol Street, Suite 1350, Jackson, MS 39201. We're reachable at (601) 954-9979, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Central Time.

Can your team work on-site in New Orleans, Memphis or Birmingham?

Yes. Each is within a day's drive of Jackson, and on-site days are planned into the scope with travel costs stated up front.

Do you hire locally?

Yes. Our analysts and engineers are Benner House employees based in the Jackson area or elsewhere in the United States, and our domain experts include practitioners from across the region.

Do you resell data center capacity or partner with the companies building here?

No. We're neutral: no partnerships with cloud providers, AI labs or model vendors. We run processing in whatever cloud or data center you already use.
